murphy middle school band awards and recognitions
The Murphy Middle School Band program is one part of the PISD East Cluster Band Program (Murphy M.S., McMillen H.S., and Plano East Senior High School). All skills and knowledge gained from participation in our band program are continued and expanded upon in the high school bands. We plan for our students to take their talents to the high school and senior high school. The East Cluster Band Program is recognized as one of the top band programs in the nation.
The ensembles of the Murphy Middle School Band Program consistently receive Superior Ratings at the Texas U.I.L. Concert and Sightreading Contest. They also have been recognized for excellence at local contests, receiving "Best in Class" and "Most Outstanding Group" awards. The band program has received state recognitions as a State Honor Band Finalist, and national recognitions through the National Wind Band Honors Project, being both a National Winner and Commended Winner for several years.
