DATES FOR 2018 – 2019 SCHOOL YEAR
September 15 East Cluster Band March-A-Thon
Kimbrough Stadium, 8:00am-9:30am
This is a required event for all students.
September 13 Band Magazine Fundraiser starts
September 30 Murphy Band Social, Main Event, Time TBA
December 11 Beginner Band Winter Performance, Murphy MS Auditorium,
Warm-Up 6:30pm, Performance: 7:00pm
This is a required event for all students in performance attire.
Black Slacks, Black Shirt, Nice Shoes (no Tennis shoes)
February 22 Murphy Band Social, Medieval Times, Time TBA
February 28 Beginner Solo Festival, Murphy MS, 4pm – 6pm
March 29 Beginner Dots Due for Sandy Lake Trip
April 15 - 18 Auditions for 2019 –2020 Murphy Bands
April 23 Rehearsal for Students going to Sandy Lake Band Festival
April 26 Sandy Lake Festival Performance
April 29 Beginner Band Rehearsal for Spring Concert
Murphy MS Band Hall, 3:40 – 4:45pm or 5:00 – 6:00pm
This is a required event all students. No special attire is necessary.
April 30 Beginner Band Spring Concert
Murphy MS Gymnasium, Warm-Up 6:00pm, Performance: 6:30pm
This is a required event for all students in performance attire.
Black Slacks, Black Shirt, Nice Shoes (no Tennis shoes)
May 16 Instrument Check-In
May 21 Instrument Check-Out for Summer and 2019-2020 School Year
Concerts and rehearsals are considered extensions of the classroom. Grades are given for attendance and participation in these required events. Please mark your calendars so that your child will attend these events.
